Mistakes
- We are here to learn, so mistakes are natural and expected. Your pages should reflect your best effort, but they do not need to be flawless.
- If you make a mistake in the writing, don’t scribble over the words, or cover them with a gob of Wite-Out(r). Here are more creative ways to deal with mistakes:
- Turn the mistake into a design, such as a :sunflower: or  or :smiley_cat: or :fallen_leaf:.
- Draw a line through the mistake, and write the correction
nerebynearby. - If using erasable ink, erase it.
Writing Expectations
- Have a parent or teacher proof your writing before copying it onto the main lesson book page.
- Cursive writing is encouraged, but block lettering is allowed.
- Final writing should be in dark ink or colored pencil.
Illustration Expectations
- Every page should include at least one illustration.
- All illustrations should be related to, and relevant to, the page content.
Page Design Expectations
- Each page should have a minimum 3/8 inch margin (space) on all edges.
- Plan your page(s) to be sure your writing and illustrations fill the page without leaving awkward empty spaces or “trapped white space”.
- Avoid computer printouts unless they significantly add to the quality of the work.
- Artistic work on page borders is optional and should only be done after completing page content.
- Finish the Title Page and Table of Contents towards the end of the block, but leave enough time to do them well.
