Physics

Sixth grade physics begins with an introduction to the scientific method focused on building skills in objective observation, and clearly describing these observations both verbally and in writing. Topics covered include sound, light, heat, magnetism, and electricity. Students begin each topic examining their individual experience with the subject, after which the class moves through a series of demonstrations of key concepts and principles. The study of sound explores the sources of sound, how sound propagates through various media, and the concepts of vibration, frequency, amplitude, duration, tone, and timbre.
